Family Vacations

Friday, March 31st, 2006

Australia has great accommodation to suit families on vacation. All along the eastern coast are purpose built vacation apartments within walking distance to beach, family orientated activities and restaurants.

In too many places you are limited to motel/resort style room, which limits the size of family that can be accommodated. Facilities are also limited in that you are unable to cook or do your own clothes washing, which will considerably add to the cost of your vacation.

Apartment resorts catering to the tourist have 1,2 or 3 bedrooms allowing a family of 6+ to holiday in comfort. The apartments are all fully self-contained with full cooking and laundry facilities. Even if you have toddlers you are catered for with cots and high chairs available for your use. They are basically a home away from home. Check which resorts have which facilities, eg. pools, kids club, etc as each one will be different.

Depending on what you require of your vacation different regions offer varying activities. The Great Barrier Reef offers some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world. Many of the surf breaks are used for the pro surfing competitions and if game fishing is your thing there are an abundant of oppurtunity to catch a big one. Theme parks are always good value for the family and are centered around the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

No matter what you and your family require you will be well looked after along the eastern coast of Australia
